By Assaulting, Blaming and shaming the doctors where do you think you are heading dear patients?

A young doctor was declared dead this morning after the assault that he had to suffer from the attendees of a patient just a few days back! Not just him, a bunch of many other young residents were attacked violently by a patients relatives in this same case. And this is just one incidence, many such incidences happen on a very frequent basis and have been on an unfortunate rise in the past few years. I am ashamed to even type that the doctors are beaten up, shamed, dragged into consumer courts and at times even abused by the patients for anything that goes unexpected! I have grown up in a family submerged in medical science, and at present I reside in a campus full of medicine graduates, I have grown up seeing doctors and now that I am practicing as one too, I realize the level of responsibility, care, concern, and compromise that the doctors carry on their shoulders. Medicine is not an industry where things come easy, right from a naïve age when the other school kids enter grad

Into how many more pieces will we divide the Human race?

“Bramhin?” somebody had asked me when I first entered my graduation school, “Hmm...I guess so” is what I had responded, but how does it matter? Is what I thought that time? I got my first ugly picture about people’s obsession with caste, sub-caste and more during my graduation days. I am glad I was spared from it in school but I am sad that it still gripped me during my early student years. It gave me its first impression in the form of different beliefs, different food habits, and different traditions but as I started to know it more the impression took a serious and sad turn and it became all about different pride, different community, and different political followings!  I realized that the difference was so important that it did come in between two people when they wanted to get married, and it did evoke some harsh response if it was ever questioned. In scenarios when I looked out for work the difference was fruitful for me when I met others of my own caste, and the difference wa

This women’s day let’s salute these silent magicians!

The bed that you left unmade gets back in position; the bathroom which was all wet and messy gets spic and span, the lunches and the dinners are always take care of, the daily vegetables, the rice, and pulses or the detergent to wash your clothes is magically on time! Yes, this is magical and this is done by a silent magician who works day in and day out around you, for a smooth and organized every day! These magicians are none other than the beautiful women who make and maintain your houses, the wonderful housewives! In an era in which we are living today, everybody is submerged in competition, in work and in succeeding, everyone is constantly running and everyone wants to rise beyond boundaries, but these amazing women are a selfless pillar of strength for the ones who are running around; their husbands, their children, their daughter-in-law, or the other working women members of the house.  Their ambitions and their strength is the success of their loved ones. And it’s their amb

Why so ‘Big’ and why so ‘Fat’ my dear Indian wedding?

The most expensive looking outfit’s for the bride and the groom, a huge space decorated with the best of flowers, both an indoor and outdoor arrangement, a theme to add to the décor, an additional arrangement of some musical entertainment, some of the most dazzling lights, a good residential accommodation for the guests! And of course, how can I forget the food with four to five varieties of main course cuisines, five to six varieties of desserts, and other delicacies. Well, that’s more or less what a typical Big, Fat India wedding constitutes of! And why? Because the neighbors had done it the same way? Because your relatives would think you don’t have enough savings? Or because you don’t want to break the trend and rather take it the way it has been since always! The wedding season is at its peak and I am sure just like me even you must have attended many weddings in the past few days. In the weddings that I attended some did have a bigger space than the other and some did have
