Travel to look beyond yourself and your boundaries!

In the past one month, I had to travel to four different states, for different reasons, some for work and some for leisure. It has been a jam-packed month and the backlog of work at my base place after that has kept me way too occupied to post a blog. The travel was exhaustive because it was at a stretch but there have been way too many lessons which I have picked up on my way. I guess it will be more systematic if I summarize my lessons in points, so here it goes!
1.     Travel to know that you are not the only one: Well yes, most of us are cocooned! We are the heroes in our boundaries, where on one hand it’s good to be one, on the other it gets us stuck at that spot itself. For instance, I believe that I am a very independent person, I manage many things alone and I do a lot of creative things apart from my profession. Even my family boasts me constantly about it and I am content being the made-up heroine! Beyond my boundaries and outside my city it’s very common for a girl to be the way I am, and in fact, most of them are doing things which I may be too lazy to even think about at times. Yes, in many aspects it would apply to you as well. Travel and travel as much as you can, meet people whom you have never know before, interact and know that there is a lot that is still unexplored and a long way that still lies ahead of you! No, you are not “THE" painter, “THE" writer, “THE" professional, and “THE" smarty pants! There is always and always a certain someone who is doing something better than you, travel introduces you to that and takes you a level up in your work. With travel, you make sure that you are not that frog in the well, with travel if you introspect then you continuously improve!
2.     Travel to make yourself a little more flexible:  Can’t sleep with that annoying noise? Want a certain type of breakfast in the morning? Need a compulsory 7-hour sleep for sure? Travel, stay away from home and you will realize that your requirements are not as rigid as they seem! We tend to define ourselves in many strange ways, we feel it’s just the way we are, but the reality is that we are not. We are just used to a certain pattern of things and if we don’t break them we may get dead stubborn about them with passing time. Travel is the best way to take a break from your rigid requirements and make yourself a little more flexible with your routine!
3.     Travel to grow your reach and spread your circle: Of course you can do this, but only if you interact with new people. Where connecting on social media is a trend nowadays the depth of bonds is definitely more when you meet someone face to face. By meeting newer people and by associating with them you get an opportunity to plan a new venture and you get an opportunity to spread your existing ideas. Spread your circle, and keep interacting with new minds for you never know when and where you connect with a like mind which can take your idea ahead! Connecting on social media is certainly a boon but I believe it’s a better portal for maintenance of existing bonds than creating new bonds!
4.     Travel to know yourself more: In our cocoons, we are tied to a strict schedule which we follow every day, you may have to reach office on time or a maid to attend to. Our minds are constantly occupied by our daily to-do list, so much so that we do not even realize what are the things which we actually like, what are the things which may be productive for us, or what are things which we should shun doing! Travel is the best time when you can sit with yourself without any worries or deadlines and think about your journey of life, think and plan about how you can improve things for yourself, whether you are heading the way you always wanted to and so on and so forth! A journey within your own self becomes easier when you are on a journey to some other place. Do try it!

5.      Travel because there is a lot that needs to be exploredThis, of course, is an age-old reason and also a reason which can never get old! From the different cultures and cuisines to the different geographies and sceneries there is way too much in this big yet small world that needs to be explored!
Its summers, take a break and plan that next trip to look beyond yourself and your boundaries! J

Annoyed by children on board? This read is for you

A recent Instagram post by a well-known celebrity writer read “They should give away free birth control pills on all airlines as a public service.” I juggled for a long time to understand what it meant, but couldn’t until I saw the only hashtag the writer had used as a caption beneath, #annoyingchildrenonboard. This post came after almost a week of relaxing and luxurious holiday that he had in Thailand. As most of the posts by this writer are relatable, at times funny and witty, it took me a while to comprehend what he had written. How could he post such a thing ? I thought, and scrolled through the comments section. In the comments I saw outpouring negativity for little children and their parents inside airplanes. “It’s so irritating!” one comment read, “I wanted to sleep peacefully on my three-hour flight, but the child behind just couldn’t shut up. Why do people produce when they can’t teach their children basic etiquette!!!” “So relatable,” read another, “an annoying baby was cryin

Can we expect Real Growth, from Intelligence that’s Artificial?

Technology has changed so much around us in the past few years, isn’t it? From getting miraculously connected to each other through phones, we have grown multifold since the time mobiles were first introduced. Internet, international connectivity, google search, and social media, we seem to have travelled ahead at the speed of light. While many of us were still adapting to all of this, a big word- artificial intelligence started circulating. Intelligence and artificial, look like two opposite words that have been joined together , is what came to my mind when I first heard about it. Before I could know, this technology, now popular as AI had already infiltrated many apps and websites. Someone asked me if I use ChatGPT, and I got partially shocked to discover what it was. In between all this lately, there was another popular news that mentioned how an MIT graduate had invented a device that could read your mind. He mentioned how it could google questions within your mind and order a p
One I marvel at the clarity that most young adults have nowadays with respect to their careers. Because well, I was an ever-confused young adult; or wait, maybe not. I belong to a family of more or less medicos. Starting from my paternal and maternal grandparents, to my mom, dad, most maternal and paternal uncles, and aunts, we are a family of a wide array of different medical specialists. From dining table discussions about patients to some doctor-patient talk, which I used to overhear while doing my homework in my mom’s clinic; my subconscious mind had accumulated enough data to evoke the hidden medico in me. Thus, I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, a cardiologist if I can be specific. Opting biology and reading text for the premedical entrance examination thus came naturally to me. Clearing the examination with an average rank, good enough to fetch me a college which could grant me a degree, but not as great so as to get me the top-notch colleges then followed. “
